Hi all,

Make sure you're dilligent when responding
to ads here.

Although I will filter as many ads I see as
junk, I believe you should respond to ads
with your eyes wide open.

Any loss of money to advertisers here is an
issue between you and the advertisers and
has nothing to do with me or the forum.

You are 100% responsible for your financial
actions.

Goodluck

Thanks,

i said dat to say this, though creating a column for free advert is great and welcome ideal, forumnites should be very very careful in responding to adverts, ensure you scrutinize very well before spending a din cos some people are out in the internet to ripp u off you hard earn money and damage the good, great, marvelous and wonderful job that people like dennis is doing.

Why did i say so, this is my experience about the advert i saw in the forum about how you can get a laptop for as low as N8000 with the seminar fee placed at N4000 as below

please i want you to know my expirience with the above advert and that you should be careful not to be ripped - off your money whenever u c adverts like this.

I quite appreciate the work dennis is doing via this forum, but i want to advice everyone to be very careful and to scrutinize adverts very well before they make payment.
this is my experience:

I got in contact with this advert three days ago and it seems an interesting one from its content, so i decided to make attend the slot for IKEJA, DATE: TODAY, SATURDAY, 25TH APRIL 2009. But as you will notice the venue and time is not indicated in the advert, so i decided to take caution before making any form of payment.

Firstly i visited their site, but i got an error message "The requested URL could not be retrieved", i sent a mail to the email address but got no response.

Then i text the phone no 07089217831 to ask for the venue and time, but for 24 hours i did not get any reply, then i send another text but still did not get any reply, this no has being on all this will but when i started calling it was not being pick and later switched off.

i then used my mtn no to call this no 08032922457, spoke with whoever the person is, i asked is the seminal on get a laptop for N8000 scheduled to hold on saturday, april 25, 2008 still holding and he replied yes. i said please text me the venue and time for the seminar and he promise to do that in 30 minutes times, after waiting for a long time i did not get his text. thereafter i continued calling with my no. but he refuse to pick, i then began to smell a rat.

i called until some minutes to 4pm on friday but he still did not pick and i had this strong feeling that i should not pay until i get i response so is refuse to pay.

then i went a step further by calling 07023314545, the phone was busy for a while and after wards it went off.

Do you know what today, saturday being the day for the seminar i decided to call from a call centre, i called the no 08032922457 and it was picked up and i told the person i called to demand the venue and time for the seminar you promise to send it but i did not get any reply and that i have sent text messages to another line but yet no reply, he told me he is very busy and i said texting me will not take you 1min, so text me and before i no he dropped the phone and i kept calling but he did not pick the call.

I also notice they placed another advert on how you can get a laptop for N4000 and i compared the phone nos on this advert with the above advert, and i observe all the phone nos are totally different not a single one is same, why the inconsistency, what do you observe, check out for yourself

so people in the house what do you think about this sceneriou, if i had paid money how would i have gotten back my money.

so i advice everyone to be carefull in responding to adverts.

once again dennis thanks for your good work, i appreciate it  and thump up for you but forumnites keep your eyes open.

sincerely.

hello mr Dennis,i ve been seeing your postings to me concerning the laptop issue.to pay my own 15.000 naira is not the problem, and how to get 3 people is not my problem. My problem is,about 150 people are intrested in the project and with their money in hand in our church. But we discover that if 150 people paid the 15,000,only 50,will have the laptops.what then happens to the rest 100?Now they are saying that why cant the NGO increase the price slightly for us, to enable every body to get, incase some people may not be able to get 3 people to refer.can this be done? pls reply urgently to modanetcash@ymail.com or text me on08055054457,so i can call you  and we discuss the possibility.thanks i am waiting,
